Social and business networking on the web
What initially started out as something to relieve a little boredom and to have some fun turned into one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, experiences that I will carry with me forever...
I met the most amazing group of friends in various technology forums while working on a website.
What I learned was the value of networking and relationships. I know that whenever I run into technical problems, or other problems for that matter, this core group of friends are always there to help me work through the problem. Sometimes there is a profit motive and sometimes not. I have learned that often times I get free help and reciprocate in kind. It is mutually beneficial and rewarding.
I have learned useage of html, php, mysql, servers, IPhone Apps, WordPress, and many other things from these friends. While the prior sentence may sound greek to you, the same principles apply to whatever your business, social, or recreational interests are. Connect with the right people and not only do they lift you up, but you lift them up. It is self perpetuating and mutually beneficial - what better friendships and connections could you have?
The dividends continue to compound from these relationships and I hope that you too learn the value of nurturing your network not only for your benefit, but for the benefit of your new found business connections and "friends"!
